Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929, before Lunar New Year, giving him a 28/1 Life Path, Dragon energy, and Capricorn influence. The 28/1 fits leadership, ownership of a mission, and the ability to build influence around a cause, while his Dragon timing becomes especially compelling when his major breakthroughs are studied.
In 1956, a Monkey year, one of Dragon’s strongest friendly signs, the Montgomery Bus Boycott reached its decisive victory as segregated seating on Montgomery buses ended. In 1960, a Rat year, Dragon’s other major friend, the student sit in movement expanded nationally and King returned to Atlanta to deepen his leadership role. Then in 1964, a Dragon year, his own sign returned and King received the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming its youngest recipient at the time.
His final chapter adds an important CUE lesson. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, during a Monkey year, normally friendly to his Dragon imprint. But friendly energy should not be read as protection from tragedy. In the weeks before his death, King had entered the Memphis sanitation campaign, returned after an earlier march turned violent, and delivered his final “Mountaintop” speech the night before he was killed.
