Buffalo, NY: the story in the numbers

Founded 20 April 1832, a Friday.

Buffalo’s modern city identity began on April 20, 1832, when New York State incorporated Buffalo as a city. Earlier layers remain important: the Town of Buffalo was established in 1810, while the village had already developed around Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The Erie Canal’s completion in 1825 then transformed Buffalo into a major port and transportation center, giving the new city a much larger regional role.

The April 20 date carries a 20/11 imprint, a 20/11 day, 14/5 year energy, Dragon Eastern energy and Taurus Western energy. The date also falls on the 111th day of the year. Dragon is compatible with Rat and Monkey and has Dog as its direct enemy. Rat timing produced a useful development layer in 2012, when Larkin Square opened and helped anchor the restoration and transformation of the surrounding Larkin District. Dog timing provides a sharper contrast: by 2006 Buffalo remained under significant fiscal pressure, with continuing population loss, workforce reductions and financial restructuring. Monkey timing was tested but did not produce a sufficiently distinctive event to establish a second strong cycle.

CUE: Buffalo’s strongest pattern is reinvention through inherited infrastructure. The city repeatedly turns major changes in transportation, industry and urban use into another version of itself, reusing older structures and connections for new economic and civic purposes.

Life Path, sun sign and Chinese sign are CUE's reading of the date, not scientific claims. They describe tendencies, never outcomes.
