MORE THAN A SUN SIGN

Your birthday holds more than your sign

You have probably read your sun sign. A birthday carries more than that: the day, the month and the year each mean something in different traditions. Here are three ways people read a birth date, and what each one looks at.

WAY 1

The day you were born

In numerology, the day of the month is your born-day number: a secondary energy alongside your main one. Someone born on the 3rd and someone born on the 21st share a 3 (2 + 1), but CUE reads the 11th and the 22nd whole, and treats the 20th as carrying a hidden 11.

WAY 2

Your whole birth date: the Life Path

Add the digits of your month, day and year separately, then add the three. The result, reduced to one digit unless it lands on 11, 22, 33 or 28, is your Life Path: the number numerology reads as your main energy.

A Life Path 7 is described as thoughtful and drawn to knowledge; a Life Path 5 as free-spirited and restless in routine.

WAY 3

Your year: the Chinese zodiac

In Chinese astrology your birth year gives you an animal: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Cat, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog or Pig. CUE uses the Cat rather than the Rabbit, and the animal year changes at Lunar New Year, so a January birthday often belongs to the previous animal.

TOGETHER

Putting them together

Each system is an interpretive lens, not a measurement. Read together, they give a more specific picture than a sun sign alone, which is what CUE does: numerology, Chinese astrology and Western astrology in one profile.
